Why bellevue botanical garden?


When it comes to outdoor photography, finding a location that offers both natural beauty and variety is key. Bellevue Botanical Garden is one of my favorite places to capture family, couple, and children’s portraits. With its lush greenery, vibrant seasonal blooms, and well-maintained paths, it provides the perfect setting for elegant and timeless photos.


This garden is a hidden gem on the Eastside—a peaceful retreat from the city, filled with flowering trees, scenic walking trails, and beautiful natural backdrops. Every season offers something unique, from the delicate cherry blossoms in spring to the rich autumn hues in fall.

The location is ideal for:

  • Family portraits – A relaxed environment where families can interact naturally.
  • Couple sessions – A romantic setting for intimate moments.
  • Children’s portraits – Plenty of space for kids to explore while I capture their natural expressions.


A Perfect Spring Photoshoot

The session featured in this blog took place during peak spring bloom, showcasing the soft pastels of rhododendrons, flowering trees, and lush greens that make this garden such a magical place.

Best Times for a Bellevue Botanical Garden Photoshoot

  • Spring (March-May): Vibrant blooms, soft pinks and whites.
  • Summer (June-August): Lush greenery, golden sunlight.
  • Fall (September-November): Warm autumn colors, cozy vibes.

For soft, glowing light, I recommend scheduling your session in the early morning or late afternoon.
