what this Experience is like
My name is Nadezda Zavitaeva. I've been photographing people for over twelve years, and what draws me to portrait photography has never changed — I want to see what's really there.
I create fine art studio portraits and lifestyle sessions for women, families, maternity, seniors, and children in Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, and across the Eastside. But the work is not about categories. It's about a person — and what happens when they stop performing for the camera.
I work through movement and atmosphere, not rigid posing. We use music, soft light, slow transitions. There's no rush. What interests me most is the moment when something shifts — when a new side of a person starts to show, almost without them noticing. That's what I'm looking for in every session.
In the studio, the environment is intentionally calm. Sessions unfold slowly and deliberately — careful attention to light, composition, and the details that make a portrait feel like a painting. The result is a small, concentrated set of fine art portraits.
Lifestyle sessions at home or outdoors follow a different rhythm — more fluid, more movement, a broader visual story. Families, mothers and children, maternity — the connection between people, captured as it happens.
The setting changes. The approach doesn't. Every session is personal, unhurried, and focused on something real.
