Intro

Every year, we create new Christmas setups — real, touchable, and filled with cozy details. This season’s themes are Pink, Rustic, and Classic Red & Gold. You can find more information and booking details here.

At the same time, I’ve been drawn to explore something a little different. I’ve started to really enjoy creating fine art children’s portraits — simple, expressive, and full of emotion. Experiments always bring new energy, and this one came naturally. I wanted to see how that painterly, atmospheric style could blend with the magic of Christmas.

That’s how the idea for Fine Art Christmas Minis began — portraits with less décor and a calm, artistic atmosphere.

The idea

I wanted to create something quieter — portraits that focus more on expression and mood than on décor.

The goal was to keep the warmth of Christmas but show it through a fine art lens — softer light, painterly tones, and a calm atmosphere that feels more like a painting than a traditional holiday photo.

The Process

As we prepared for the season, I began experimenting with painterly backdrops and a few simple props.

The idea was to bring a fine art touch to Christmas portraits while keeping them bright, elegant, and focused on the child.

During the pre-shoot, I worked with soft light, gentle movement, and balanced colors to create portraits that feel expressive and festive — with a subtle fine art mood rather than a heavily styled look.

The Result

These new backdrops bring a painterly atmosphere to Christmas portraits while keeping the focus on genuine expression and connection.

They work beautifully for children — solo or with siblings — and for small families with a little one.
